If I might just dip a toe into this sea of McFauls in Canada information. I have an Archibald McFaul, also from Co. Antrim and born late 18th century, living in Wellington, Ont. where he married a Frances Ellis about 1820. The only child I know of is Hannah Anastasia McFaul who married Denis Jeremiah Scully, a customs official in Sarnia in 1844. He was a recent immigrant from Tipperary. Could this Archibald be the same Archibald already mentioned or a close relation ? McFaul is quite a rare name in Ireland ocurring only in a small area of Co. Antrim and Archibald as a first name must be very rare too.
