I just returned from Scotland and learned that Clan MacFarlane resided in and around Loch Lomond, near Greenock. I talked to several locals who supported this finding as many of you may have also learned. I plan to return to that area in the next couple of years to continue my research on the McFarlin name, however in the meantime if anyone on this forum has any information to share I would appreciate it. My local research of my family name McFarlin goes back to my great great grandfather Daniel McFarlin born 1821 in Connecticut and my great great grandmother Abigail Foskit (Foskitt, Fosket, Foskett) also born in Connecticut in 1825. However I have been unable to find any information about their parents and/or when the name came into the US.
