Robert McFarlane, Calenderer in Glasgow – where is this book?

Hi,

I am descended from Robert McFarlane (1771-1836) who had a calendering business in Glasgow in the 19th Century. I have been told that a gentleman who worked in the Mitchell Library in Glasgow and lives or lived in Kilmacolm in Renfrewshire wrote a book about this family. Does anyone know the author’s name or where I might find a copy of this book?
