Looking for information on a Mary McFarlane born in Nov 1878 and married a William Frances Carr born in 1875 Hastings, Ontario. I am trying to trace her ancestors. I am pretty sure she was born in Peterborough, Ontario and was adopted when she was 2 1/2 by Rose Cooper and ____________ McFarlane!? I do beleive that Rose Cooper and McFarlane lived in the Lakefield, Ontario area. I was told that she was the only girl and only had brothers. They were very jealous (probably because she was the only girl and adopted)of her and one of them even stabbed her. Her mother sent her away to Trenton to the Hendricks (sp?) to work and for her to be safe because of the incident I don't have any information on her Biological parents and trying to find out so I can trace this part of my tree. Anyone with information or can help me on this journey please contact me.
