Deed Book Vol. P Page 531
State of Tennessee Warren County - This indenture made this 2nd day of
August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & forty seven
by & between the heirs of Wm Mcfarlane (deceased) viz; Anger P. Mcfarlane Robt
C Mcfarlane Wm P. Mcfarlane Jane A Curtif wife of Robert Curtis by her
attorney in fact Christain Mcfarlin Lucy C Mcfarlane Madison Turner and wife
Catharine M. Martha L Mcfarlane and Richard J Mcfarlane Sarah B Mcfarlane
Rebecca P Mcfarlane Josaphine L Mcfarlane minor heirs and Geo. M Smartt
withinforth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred & twelve
dollars & fifty cents to the said heirs of William Mcfarlane (deceased) in
hand paid the Rights whereof is hereby acknolidged hath bargained & sold and
by these presents do bargain and sell and convey to the said Geo. M Smartt a
certain tract or parcel of land lying in Warren County Tennessee on the waters
of the plumb Branch one of the triblatiries of Hickory Creek in civil district
No. 10. Beginning on a black oak on the South Side of the plumb branch thence
North Eighty poles to a post oak thence West Two hundred & twenty poles to a
stake on the district line thence with the district line South five and a half
degrees East forty one poles to a stake thence East fifty six poles to
pointers thence South thirty-nine poles to a stake in the Road thence East one
hundred & sixty poles to the Beginning - Including ninety five acres lies the
same more or lefs to have and to hold the same to the said Geo. M. Smartt &
his heirs forever and Warrant and defend the same to Geo. M. Smartt. against
the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever with all the appurtenancies
thereinto belonging or in any wise appertaining and through mistake the Name
of Christain Mcfarlane Widow of Wm Mcfarlane deceased was omitted at the top.

we have hereunto set our hands and seals August the 2nd 1847.

We the undersigned bind ourselves to Geo. M Smartt in the sum of one hundred
dollars will & truly to be paid. but to be void on condition that Sarah B.
Mcfarlane Rebecca Mcfarline Josephine L Mcfarlane now minors Ratifying or
confirm unto Geo. M. Smartt or his heirs the deed to a certain tract of land
whereon Christain Mcfarlane now lives that we have this day Jointly sold to
said Geo. M Smartt this August 2, 1847.

and that they heard them acknolidge that they Executed the same on the day it
bears date for the purposes therein contained Witnef my hand at office in
Mcminnville
