My research into my Rutledge/Gibney roots has taken me to the associated family of the McFarlands in hopes of finding out more about all these families. William McFarland and Susannah Clement(s) were both born in Ireland. William was born abt. 1810/1811...according to his tombstone he was a native of Bracky Co Tyrone. Susanna(h) was born maybe 1822. William and Susannah had children William Andrew b. 1846 who appears did not marry; Isabella b. 1845 who married Francis H Gibney; Robert b. 1852 who married Isabella Gibney; Samuel b. abt. 1858 and Catherine b. abt. 1860. It is most likely that they emigrated around 1848, although some place it 10 years earlier and one census 20 years later. This family appears to have been Presbyterian.
If anyone has information about the McFarland family originating in the Sixmilecross area I'd love to hear from you!
