A search for McFann in the Pa. State Archives which are searchable on iarchives.com reveals a Thomas McFann who was listed as a shareholder of the Farmers and Mechanics Bank of Pittsburgh in 1815. There is also a Nathan McFann listed as an "inmate" on a tax list from Chester County in 1781. My understanding of the term inmate is that it means he was married but did not own property.
