Have found a bit more about Jane McFadyen. I knew her maiden name was Surgenor and funny but in the 1881 census she was living with her parents at 117 Gairbraid Street.
The family:-

David Surgenor a 50 born Ireland.
Elizabeth wife a 50 born Ireland.
Jane dau a 16 born Ireland.
James son a 14 born Ireland.
Mary dau a 12 born Ireland.

They must have came over between 1869 and 1881.

Jane McFadyen died 07 March 1930 at 52 Stewart Street Glasgow, that's how I found her parents her mothers maiden name is Hume.

Still not found John's death yet but know it was between 1910 and 1920, as when my grandparents married in 1910 he was still alive. When my grandmother Annie McLean Cameron nee McFadyen died in 1920 he was listed as being dead.

Have found 7 John McFadyen's died between 1910 and 1920, have looked at 2 of them and not him, another 2 were marine returns so not him see other postings below for McFadyen 1918 and you see one of them there.
So he has to be one of the other 3, will look them up when I get a chance.
Hope this helps someone.
