Hello, I'm looking for Samuel J. McFadden who married Sarah Powell in or around Lacon, Ill., in the mid-19th century. Sarah was from around Farmville, Virginia, I think. They had a daughter, Kitty, who was my paternal grandmother.
Sarah remained in Illinois when Kitty moved to Nebraska and Colorado but I can see no indication that Samuel was anywhere near her at the end of her life. She and Samuel had other children who appear to have gone somewhere with Samuel. I don't know if there was a divorce.
