Hi, Aunt Grace, it's your nephew Jaimie.I did a family tree when I was a teenager for school.I've started at it again. This Summer, I spent some time in the Quebec Archives in Hull, and in the National Archives in Ottawa.Send me an address, and I'll send you some stuff.Dad says hi.

Here's some stuff for now.I started out with the family tree I did about 17 years ago as a teenager. Most of what I had was told to me by Thomas James' wife, my grandma and your Mom, or by Aunt Lena.I went from that onwards.
I started out with the family tree I did about 17 years ago as a teenager. Most of what I had was told to me by Thomas James' wife, my grandma and your Mom, or by Aunt Lena.I went from that onwards.I found Thomas James McEvoy's baptism record, military records (surprise). He was born in Montreal, 16 September 1896, and baptized Thomas James Ignatius McEvoy on the 18th, at Saint Mary of Good Counsel, which no longer exists.Parents were James R. McEvoy and Catherine Maud Larkin.Besides living in Montreal, they also lived in Ottawa.I visited some of the addresses that they lived at and took pictures of one site.Grandpa Thomas James was drafted in WWI, and served for a short time with the 1st Depot Batallion Saskatchewan Regiment. He knew shorthand and there is a story that he worked in the parliament buildings, which I couldn't verify. After WWI, he farmed in Perdue, Saskatchewan, and wound up in Melville. I have some other biographical details.Oral history has it that Catherine Maud was born in Ireland.I was told the same about James, but haven't been able to verify this and have some doubt that he wasn't born in Ontario.
