McEvoys may not have a tartan but we do have a fantastic coat of arms - royal blood in there as well I believe! (the white part with the black dots is the ermetine (I think that is how you spell it) and was used for royalty - remember the old story books where the king wears a red robe with a white fluffy colar with black dots on it?I had a friend do a bit of translating but to be honest you would need to look into it yourself. The red lion is supposed to be a marriage between a Scottish nobleman and the red had is a symbol of Ireland, while the white is the female royalty - would be happy to hear if anyone can tell me if this is anywhere near accurate.
