McEvoys in Liverpool
I am searching for information regarding Elizabeth and James McEvoy who were married in 1912 at West Derby, Liverpool. James father was Henry McEvoy and Elizabeth’s was Edward Barratt.
I am trying to find out more about Elizabeth and the Barratt family. Elizabeth had a brother Edward who went to Australia to live between 1920-1935. He was my husbands Grandfather.
He joined the army in Australia in 1941 and listed on his application form a sister Elizabeth McEvoy from Edge Hill Liverpool. He left the family when his children were very young and though they saw him a couple of times after that they never knew anything about him and his past. He died in 1963 in Brisbane, Queensland.
According to the March 1901 Census, Edward and Annie Barratt (Elizabeth and Edwards parents) were living at 5 Brook Street, Manchester. Their children were Elizabeth 11, Christina 5 and Thomas 2.
Edward Jnr was born around six months later in October 1901.
Christina Barratt (Elizabeth and Edwards sister) married James Willoughby in 1916 and witness to their marriage was James McEvoy.
