Wanted to update info on MCVOY in Pensacola. Still seeking
info on JOHN MACVOY (aka any of the above spellings.) Do
know now that he was a British soldier in the West Florida
Royal Foresters around 1780 or 1781 in Pensacola and does
show up in a Spanish East Florida Census (St.John's Co)in 1783. His wife, Isabel (aka ISABELLA, ISOBEL, YSAVEL, etc.)and 4 children ONLY (why was John listed in ST.John's Co?)
shows up living on English Church St in Pensacola's 1784 census. The eldest son's name was JOAQUIN and he was known
as Juan. I am of the opinion now that he may connect to the ABOY family now found in Cuba and Puerto Rico. If anyone knows of further info on JOHN/JUAN MACVOY(MCVOY) and
Wife Isabel (both born before 1752 or before, possibly in Ireland, Scotland, or England or maybe even the Channel Islands) please contact Bonnie Treon [email protected]
