Dear Tracy,
Like yourself I have not looked into the site for a while. I have been contacted by Kristen McEvoy and await information from her.She seems to be decended from your side of the family. I really do not know much about my grand-father McEvoy as he died when he was 52 years old. He married Sarah Jane Aiken and when my father was born they lived in Tobergill Street. He was a flax dresser and I think they lived in various mill houses around Belfast. I know my father said they lived in Silvio St, Tobergill St, Sydney St. West, Greencastle, and they must have lived in Hooker St. when he died.He was champion band master of all Ireland, and champion piccolo player of all Ireland as well.I know in his spare time he taught music. I am sure I remember my father telling me that his father and your grandfather's father were twins.I know one of Your fathers brothers became the father of twins and my daughter also has twins. As I said before I can remember your Dad well, and I can remember his brother Jim was a piano tuner. I lived in No. 19 Jaffa Street and my father died in 1959 when I was 17 years old.My father worked in Short & Harland.Maybe when Kristen gets back to me we may come up with something else. I have one photo of my grandfather. It is only a photo copy that I was sent from a cousin in Wales.I will contact her and see if she has any more information.
Bye for now.Look forward to hearing from you.Evelyn
I will be in Canada in September this year, maybe I will find out more about my fathers brother who emigrated to Ontario by then. Give my regards to your Dad.
