Hi, just to let you know, I don't think we are related, however, I to am in the Canadian Forces, currently stationed at 4 Wing Cold Lake with 410 Tac F (OT) Sqn. I have been serving for almost 14 years now. 12 years of which have been here with 2 different Sqns. First 419 Sqn, and now 410. I started out as an Air Weapons Technician, and am now an Aviation Technician. My father served with the RCEME corps in the late 60's. My grandfather was a cook with the Princess Louises (New Brunswick) Hussars (tank reg't) during WW2. I have numerous great uncles, uncles, cousins etc... that served in one way or another during WW1, WW2 or peacetime. Oh yeah, I am a Cpl. The advancement in the Air Force isn't as fast as the army. I will more than likely retire a Cpl. At least the pay is half decent.
