You are probably talking about John McEvoy who was married to Anastasia Powers. I too am a descendant of these pioneers. Their gravestone can still be found St. John the Evangelist Church in Enniskerry, Ont.(part of Osgoode Township). If interested, send me an email and I can send you some info on what I have on the family (mostly those around the Ottawa area). I, personally, have very little on the American branch and would be very interested in exchanging information.
