Jack:Unfortunately V.X. died about 1989. I too have the info from him.I love the family crest.
He contacted my father Ross to see if we were related but couldn't find a direct common ancestor, which seems odd because we came from the same county in Ireland and settled in the same approximate area of Ontario. One thing he said to me was that all the spellings of McEnaney are from the same root, so don't worry about the spellings. My people came to Canada through, so I am told Detroit. So I think that means that we landed in the U.S. first then came to Canada. The McEnaneys were a large Catholic family so it may be that we are related.I know I do have a relation in the Detroit area but I can't remember his name, I met him at my grandmothers funeral back in the '60's.My ggrandfathers name was Bernard McEnaney and he married Mary O'Boyle (I have their wedding picture) He was a gold prospecter in Northern Ontario and there is a lake McEnaney named after him.He is in the newspapers of the time in Timmins, Ont. I believe. If any of this if familiar to you please contact me through this website. or my e-mail:[email protected]
