First, there is no doubt about Daniel who married Nancy and Lemua Jane. The line I gave on the previous message is correct per research done by Clara Hunt Miller (now deceased). You may want to contact Elizabeth Caranis (?spelling) who has posted many responses on this forum. She has all the records that Clara had as Clara passed them on to her. Clara published a book "McElyea's in Transit" and Elizabeth now has the publishing rights. I'm sure she'll be glad to reproduce it for you for a nominal fee (last I knew it was around $25).

Second, there was a land purchase in AR by Daniel F. McElyea. If this is the Daniel who married Nancy and Lemua Jane, I find it surprising that he would have done so when he was in his 70's. I would think that it would have been one of his sons or another Daniel who was somewhat younger. So you can see why I'm trying to find out if there was another Daniel who ended up living in the same area.

Third, I find it interesting that you have the oldest child Elizabeth dying at the age of 7 years. Could you check the bible records again for the death year. The other McElyea research who claims Elizabeth as her direct ancestor has her married living well into her years. I too have an Elizabeth McElyea who right now have as Daniel's oldest daughter who probably died between 1880 and 1900 in possibly Wise Co or Montague Co TX. Trying to figure which Elizabeth belongs to Daniel and which one still needs a connecting point to her parents is the brick wall for me at this point.

From what has been gathered on Daniel's children, here is the full names (surname excluded) -

by Nancy -
Elizabeth (possibly Elizabeth Jane)
Babe (could be that this child was called Babe or Baby and didn't have a name until later or name was given in 1850 census and is actually Rowena M. as found in 1860 census)
Rowena M.
Thomas D.
Mary O./D.

by Lemua Jane -
Rebecca Fleron
Leehannah P.
Amanda E.
Perry Roscoe
Alonzo (your ancestor)

If you happen to find anything on Elizabeth McElyea, please let me know. I could go into much more further detail but sometimes it's best to just not start and someone else might find something without information which others haven't found. Thanks.
