HELP! Possibly found my gggrandfather Dennis McElwey/McElwee/McIlwee in Campsie,Stirling,Scotland in 1861 and 1871 census...but...I'm really not sure. He came to U.S.(Holyoke,MA) in 1887 and his wife Catherine (Lawson) came with the children in 1888. The U.S. census records indicate his birth year as 1852-53. This matches the Dennis McIlwee of 1861 Campsie and the Dennis McElwel of 1871 Campsie. His death record states his father was a John born Ireland. He is listed in 1861 with a John born 1816 Ireland and Agnes born 1812 Ireland, siblings Jonathan 1842 Monkland,Lanarkshire and Mary 1844 same. In 1871 he is the stepson of a Mrs. Helen Keavney, children Fannie, Mary, Jane, and Peter. Don't know much more, hope this sounds familiar to someone. Thanks!
