Does anyone have information on the ancestors and descendants of the following McElwee couple?
Charles McElwee was born in Pennsylvania on July 4, 1810. Charles died in 1882 in Miami County, IN, at age 71. His body was interred at the Skinner Cemetery in 1882 in Adams Township, Cass County, IN.
He married Catherine Barsh before 1838 in Pennsylvania. Catherine was born on March 22, 1810 in Pennsylvania. Catherine died est November 1880 in Miami County, IN, at age 70. Her body was interred at the Skinner Cemetery in December 1880 in Adams Township, Cass County, IN.
Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 Census in Carlisle, PA.
In the Census of 1850, Charles was listed as a head of household in Adams Township, Cass County, IN. In the Census of 1860, Charles was listed as a head of household in Adams Township, Cass County, IN. Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Union Township, Miami County, IN. Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Perrysburg, Miami County, IN.
Charles McElwee and Catherine Barsh had the following children:
i. William Thomas2 McElwee was born on January 21, 1838.
ii. Martha Jane McElwee was born on July 27, 1839.
iii. Amelia Elizabeth McElwee was born on August 4, 1840.
iv. Margaret McElwee was born est 1841. Margaret died before 1850 at age unknown. She was christened on October 10, 1842 in Carlisle.
v. Mary Catherine McElwee was born on January 15, 1844.
vi. John Luther McElwee was born on February 20, 1847.
vii. Lydia Ellen McElwee was born in Ohio on March 3, 1849. Lydia died in 1861 in Cass County, IN, at age 12.
viii. Sarah Rebecca McElwee was born on August 29, 1851.
