Welcome to the web site.
Lots of info here. We are al related to each other some how so hello cuz.
This was sent to me by one from my cousin.
"The elder O Maelsechlainn died in the thirteenth century" . "His two twin sons" got into a squabble as to who was to inherit what. It caused a small war between them which ended with the lands being divided in half and the brothers changing their names. One took the name McElwee and the other McAfee." This is the way it was recorded in the Irish Records Book. NOTE: Some of the words were of course different as it was written in the thirteenth century, but the meaning is the same.
McElwee's and McAfee's have the same heritage.
