I have followed the same line of reasoning, Keith, that the history of the British crown at the time was to force the Scots Presbyterians off their lands by taxing them to attend a church other than the Church of England. A large number were offered land in Ireland in the hopes that the Scots would subdue the Irish (fat chance,,,they're still fighting). They were then forced to re-immigrate to America. And, as you mentioned in anearlier note, could have stopped and spent "endentured" time in the Caribbean. But Charleston, nor Georgetown, has any ships passenger lists remaining from that period.
