According to information assembled by Lucy Deal Garland for 1978 McElveen reunion, America is buried at Lane's Church Cemetery. Her husband, William Emanuel, is buried at the McElveen FAmily Cemetery. I understand that work is currently being done to clear underbrush from the family cemetery.
While checking on this information for you I noted, that 3 of the children of William Emanuel and his first wife, Betsy Wise, died in 1858. Betsy died in 1857. No months on any of these. I "lose" my great-great grandfather, James H., brother of William Emanuel, between 1850 and 1860. Also can no longer locate his wife and two of their 3 children.
They lived in Bryan Co. and attended the same Church (Deloatch PB) as brother, Moses Mc. I've often wondered if
a disease or flu went through in that time frame.
Also, in recent weeks, I did research on Elias McElveen, brother of the William that came from South Carolina. He eventually settled in Southwest GA. If you would like this, send me your e-mail and I will forward it by attachment. My e-mail is HEBeasley@aol.com
