The reason I have so much interest in Cedar Key is because my dad, John Windfield McElveen, was born in Elzy, a wide spot in the road just after you leave Otter Creek on your way to Cedar Key. Years ago when dad was still alive, we would go to the home coming at the old church in Elzy.
