Would like to find descendents of John McElrath (McIllwraith) and his wife Hester Hawley who were married @ Belleville, Hastings County, Ontario and lived there their entire lives. Hester was born @ Cloyne in 1874 and was the daughter of Peter Perry Hawley and Elizabeth Fox- Hester a sister to one of my own ancestors. I just found Hester's marriage today to John McElrath.
From online records John and Hester had at least 2 daughters Violet May born 1892 who married Alexander Fulton, and daughter Madeleine born 1897. I have no idea if Madeleine married, have no info on her past the 1911 census. (John may have been a widower when he married Hester so not sure if Violet a daughter of Hester's or from John's previous marriage?)
John McElrath died Nov. 29, 1931 and is buried at Belleville. I do not have a date of death for Hester, but she must be buried @ Belleville also. John's parents were Samuel McElrath born Ireland and his wife Christiana Stevenson from County Down, Ireland.
Thanks in advance for any info about Hester. I have an extensive file on her family of origin.
