My grandmother Ellie Elligott must have been born around 1888 in Clonmel. She died in 1962. They had nine children, one of whom was my mother Eileen, who died in 1979. The last of my uncles, Jim, died in Clonmel in 1986. I intend to research my grandparent's family trees on my next visit to Clonmel in the next few months.
As you probably know, Elligot and McElligott and the many other variants were almost interchangeable.
Best regards
