The only certain date is Joseph McArthur's death in 1932, my father attended funeral. Joseph was reputed to be 100 when he died, and 60 when he married a 19 year old. One way you might be able to check Eliza's background: Scott McArthur's 1st cousin was prominent--General Sir William McArthur was Director of Medical Services for the British Army, retired in 1942. The general was either Joseph & Eliza's son, or Joseph's nephew. Maybe Eliza was your grandfather's sister, cousin, niece.
