Thanks for the response. My Minnie was born in Aug. of 1869 to Peter and Sarah Voorhees Nevius. Minnie B. (called Mina in birth records of Warren Co., IL) married William John McElhinney who was born in Feb 1851 in Illinois.

In the Il 1900 Census they were married ten years and had two children. Minnie's mother, Sarah Nevius was living with them.

In the 1860 Census there is a Margaret McElhiney who is 75 and is the head of Samuel (age 35) Mary J (30), Moses (32) and William living in Biggsville, IL.

Also there is a William McElhaney (spelling diff.) who is 8 and lives with parents John and Nancy.

Do you have the Illinois McElhinney genealogy? I have nothing on William John and don't know how your William is related...
