Hi Liam,

My mothers family are McElhinney's from the Inishowen peninsula. They are from a village called Gleneely near Carndonagh a very beautiful place. Unfortunatly I do not know very much about our family history but I would be glad to give you any information regarding recent family history (If I know it!).
My mother is one of 7 children (5 surviving) of Thomas and Patricia McElhinney. My granfather was born in 1919 and had several brothers and sisters (William, Maggie, John, Barny). He married my grandmother around 1945 at the Sacred Heart Chaple in Carndonagh. They had 7 children, Bridget (my mother), Esther, Marian, Bernadette, Martin, Mary Josephine and Paul).
I hope this may help in some way.

Simon McGrory
