Hi Debbie. I am looking for information on John Mcelhany (shown on the 1860 census of Van Zandt Co. Texas as J F, with wife sara woodward mcelhany, and their 3 children. JF served in the 18th Regiment, Texas Cavalry, CSA. I believe he died during the war. I am curious as to what happened to the family. It appears he migrated from MS to Rusk County Texas around 1850.
