John Bell was the son of John and Margaret Bell, who came from NC to GA and later moved to TN......perhaps the grandparents of the Bell Witch Bells, perhaps not. John (the son)'s sister, another Margaret (this is easy to follow isn't it/) married Christopher McElhannon, Eleanor McElhannon Bell's older brother and they wound up in MO, the area that is now Springfield.
There was an elderly gentleman from Pendergrass GA who was descended from John and Eleanor, but I don't know if he is still alive. I met him one year at the McElhannon reunion in GA.
