Have Elizabeth Shipley listed as "daughter of deceased" in the probate records of John Macklefresh's will (b.1768, d.1819); John's will was probated 16 Mar 1820 in Baltimore County, MD, p 34, 330 - No 22 (1820) part 11. Caution: I don't have his actual will, only the records of the probate. Elizabeth received a cash payment from John's wife Margaret as part of the distribution of John's accounts.

John's wife Margaret (whose maiden name was Madeira, b.1765, d. 1841, m. 17 Dec 1790 in Baltimore, MD.) was administratrix. His estate amounted to about $12,000.

Distribution made to 4 sons, Charles, John, George, and Jacob M, and to 2 daughters Catharine Maria Jamison and Elizabeth Shipley. HOWEVER, I believe Elizabeth was a daughter-in-law, not a bio child. I believe but cannot yet confirm that "Caleb" was a 5th son of John and Margaret. Caleb Mackelfresh is listed in "Maryland Marriages 1778-1899" as marrying an Elizabeth Gwings Shipley on 4 Mar 1808. If Caleb died, it's likely Elizabeth would be listed in John's will. Perhaps she married Lewis Shipley after Caleb's death? It makes sense for her to have married Lewis Shipley in 1820, , as it would have given her a dowry or at least a start in their marriage. Would appreciate any info you have about this Elizabeth. Hope my info helps you.
