Looking for information on C. J. McDUFFIE, a Civil War veteran buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, LaPorte County, IN. There is a Wesley McDuffie family listed in the 1870 census for Galena Twp., LaPorte County, IN. His children include Nancy J., Isaac S., William A. and Amos B. His wife is Mary J. Wesley was born in Kentucky, his wife and children born in Indiana.

The C.J. McDUFFIE I am looking for was born in 1829 and died on Nov. 3, 1872. He served in the 58th Regiment, Company D from Oct 1864 to Jul 1865.

Any help would be appreciated. Our genealogy society is presenting a program on Civil War vets buried in this particular cemetery.
