Daniel did the dedicatory sermon in 1849/50 (church was built in 1849). The new church was built in 1954. This info from a book on Elizabethtown Bicentennial in the NC archives in Raleigh.

From Rootsweb.com the following:
Robert J. is buried in the Luke Sykes (aka McDuffie) cemetery in Bladen county. B March 10, 1841 D May 1, 1923 (Co K, 18th rerg., CSA)

Emily Currie, his wife, is also buried there. Dec. 27, 1846 - Oct 28, 1929

James D. McDuffie Aug 25, 1887 - Nov 13, 1940 also there. No other info on him.

Ancestry.com has civil war info on William James. Also, I have a letter written to my grandmother by WJ's granddaughter about his obituary.

Robert shows up in the 1870 census for Elizabethtown married to Martha E.

Hope this helps.

Leith
