Leith,

Yes, same Daniel E., same family.

There are names mentioned in Daniel MCDUFFIE, Sr's will: his wife, Mary Margaret KERR, and his sons James, Daniel, Robert, and John. The daughters are mentioned but are not specifically named.

Since I am interested in the American Civil War, I have concentrated on finding what I can on David George's brothers, Daniel E., William James, and Robert John. I have Daniel E.'s date and place of death as April 23, 1863 in Wilmington, N.C (of pneumonia or some other disease). This is according to the Bladen County Heritage Book Entry #579 submitted by Donna Peterson Harris. Does this correspond to the information you might have?

What do you know about David George's father? I'm under the impression that he was a Methodist minister who, in 1854, dedicated (preached first sermon) Trinity Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, Bladen County, North Carolina. Anything you can add?

Regards,
Chuck
