New Clan Macduffie

There is a strong movement afoot to form a new CLAN MacDUFFIE, plus a separate Clan MacCaffie.

At present the names have been claimed by Clan Macfie, which should or should not be Clan MacCaffie - Clan Machaffie or Clan Macduffie. The name Macfie was accepted by the Lord Lyon because Arms had been registered in that name, but it is only one family the "Sugar" Macfies from Greenock.

Macduffie would seem to have arrived from "Son of Duffie" or "Followers of Duffie" and the Clan Macfie story is highly suspect.

Is anyone else interested in forming separate Clans Macduffie and Machaffie (or Maccathie from Saint Cathbad)?

I have a detailed History and I am not talking through my ears, as Clan Macfie suggests. Would love to hear from anyone interested.
