Your Leroy Tennant MAY be my grandfather. I believe that for much of his life he was known as Leroy. I have had a tremendously difficult time tracking him, finding him for sure on only the 1930 Census, with my grandmother and my mother, their only child. It indicates he was previously married. On that census and to my family he was known as "TL", for Troxell Leroy Tennant. He died before I was born, and my grandmother died some time ago as well. The only clues I have are bits and pieces various family members recalled, most of whom have also died. Some of the clues should have been good leads, but oddly have not turned up much. McDuff rings a bell with me for some reason I can't quite figure out. I was told he had a brother OSCAR TENNANT, whom I DID find without difficulty in San Francisco, and then located what I believe is Oscar's father: AMOS TENNANT, who was living with his son Leroy. But the places of birth don't match, and the birth year is bit off. But it could be the right one, or maybe not. There are a lot of oddities about the situation. Do please send what info you can on Leroy Tennant and those associated with him, including a picture if you can. This has been the strangest search I've ever done by far. I can share a bit more by email. Thanks very much.
