Ron below I pasted what Chuck McDowell told me before I decided to have my brothers DNA tested. I am not sure how many we have now in our group but when you test/join it opens up a great place to find information about our McDowells. I will try and get more information for you.
My John McDowell was born 1759 Ireland. His father's name may be William. John married Esther Harrison and came to America about 1788.Do you know if and when some of your family left Ireland?
