My ancestor Joel Crain was involved in land transactions in Elbert Co GA in the 1790's with Daniel and Alexander Mc Dougald. I am searching for a family connection because of Joel's wife Rachel. We do not know her maiden name. Joel and Rachel were living in Franklin Co during this time. Some land deals there, some in Elbert Co. Other folks involved: Cornelius Cain/Carn, (prob not Crain) Mathias Ward, William Wilbourn, Elizabeth, wife of Alexander, William Bennett, John Ragley, Lewis Salmon/Sammons, John Salmon, Moses Rust/Rusk, Jerusha and Swann Hardin. Any hints of how these neighbors on Lightwood Creek might be kinfolks? Joel Crain/Crane born in NC ca 1762, married very young.
