My great grandfather's name was Cephas (Harrison Cephas), His father was David Mcdougal They lived in Madison county and I believe maybe they also lived in Licoln TN My granny's sister gave me a extract from a family bible that someone had copies for her and it has alot of older information that I am trying to figure out. I know they are linked just not sure how Here is what the paper copied from a bible says Duncan Mcdougal wife Anne Campbell raised a large family in Argile Shire Scotland and moved to America and settled first @ James town VA and after in Cumberland Co. N.C. Children born at Cantin, Scotland in Argyle Shire: 1. John Born 1764 2. Alex Born March 26 1767 3.Daniel Born Oct 1768 4.Archebald Born March 25 1775 Alex, Daniel, and Archibald all came to Lauderdale Co. Alabama. Some settled after in Lewis and in the West. John Mcdougal, wife not known. Died in N.C about 1800. Served in the continental army. Only two children, John Mcdougal and Mary Mcdougal Massey. John Mcdougal, wife Barsheba Brazier moved to Lauderdale Co., Alabama 1882. He and his widow died there.- Childre- William, Joseph, John, Lucy, Sallie, and Elijah. Lucy Mcdougal Moore married 1828 Lauderdale Co., Alabama. Died near Bay springs, Miss., October 19, 1945. Husband Stephen R. Moore. Mrs. Anna Mcdougal died December 23 1947, wife of Jessie W. Mcdougal @ Prospect. I Dnt know if this will help it confused me a bit but I did see a few post on here that said they had 2 other children James and Ann Nancy while they were living in North Carolina Notify Administrator about this message?
