WILLIAM SHARP MCDONALD IL..TN..IL..TX

SORRY THE JAMES SHARP MCDONALD POST WAS INCORRECT. THIS ONE IS CORRECT.

William Sharp McDonald was my third great. Little is known about his parents...only that they were in Indiana. William was born in Indiana, from what I have been told. He was a school teacher in Wilson Co, TN where he met and married. James was also an inventor. He took a trip to NY to register an invention in 1834. During that trip, his daughter, Mary Jane McDonald was born. He went by his father's in Indiana on the way home. There he met some surveyors goin out to TX. Instead of going to TN, he went with the surveyors. He was on the 1840 census as in Houston Co, TX. A year or so later, he sent for his wife and daughter in TN. His father -in-law would not let them go. As far as I know, there was no divorce or annulment. He remarried in TX. She remarried in TN. Can anyone help me?
