Hi Paul, I may not be much help, although I am also a descendant of Archibald McDonald and Sarah McNeil. Their will shows one son as "Angus", no mention of William A. I have found several William Anguish McDonalds, but am having trouble linking one of them to Archibald and Sarah. One problem is that all information I find about Archibald shows his birth date (in Scotland) on 22 Nov 1768. One of the William Anguishes was born in 1774, when Archibald was only 6; obviously not a match. Arch's will lists Angus as one (possibly the oldest) of the four youngest sons, thus the third overall. If the first son was born when Arch was about twenty, that would be about 1788, so Angus was probably born around 1790 or 1792. Also, since Archibald's will gives Angus 200 acres, I guess he probably stayed around Cumberland County, where Archibald's property was. I am still trying to find an Angus, or William Anguish, that I can link to Archibald, but no luck yet. Next in the McDonald line for me is William Driver McDonald, I believe to be the oldest of Angus's 7 children. If I find any more that might help you, I'll let you know. If you don't have Archibald's will, I will be glad to send it to you. Which of W.A.'s children is you ancestor? Bob Notify Administrator about this message?
