HI, I'm trying to find info on my Great-Grandfather, Elgin Lee McDonald, born 30 January 1880 in Washington DC.
He married Nellie Virginia Hardy, born 1883, also in Washington DC.
Elgin registered for the draft in WWI at age 38, a carpenter, living at 5425 Conduit Rd NW, Wash DC, and listed his NOK as Sarah E. Thomas, mother, at 14 Foxall (Foxhall?) Rd NW, Wash DC.
Any information on Engin's parents would be greatly appreciated.
Oddly enough, my Grandfather, William Addison Hill, born 5 November 1887, Washington DC, was also a carpenter, and I speculate that the two carpenters met on the job, and the slightly older Elgin McD introduced Wm A Hill to his daughter Nellie Virginia McDonald.
