I have reason to believe that Josephine's father's name was William Green McDonald. In the 1860 Marion Al. census he is listed with wife Elizabeth and daughter Sarah along with a daughter named Evadner which, I think, was my gggrandmother Josephine first name. They are listed next door to Angus McDonald. In 1870 Elizabeth is listed with several children one is Josephine and is living next door to Benjamin McDonald. Elizabeth moved to Lee Co. Ms. and married Harris Jernigan in 1876. It seems like William Green McDonald died about 1865. Maybe in the Civil War. His daughter Josephine married Thomas George McVay and named her oldest son William, another Robert Argyle, and the youngest son Green. They later moved to the same area of Oklahoma as others of Angus' McDonald family.
