From the records of Rev. John McRae, St. Columba Church, Hopewell NS: Donald McDonald,East Branch, East River married Margaret McLean, McLennans Mountain on November 11, 1834. Baptism records for their children as follows: Mary Fraser b. August 3, 1835; Anne b. March 4, 1837; Catherine b. April 14, 1839; Alexander b. August 1, 1841; and John b. October 7, 1843. I believe that Alexander is my great grandfather and that his parents, Donald and Margaret, were also born in NS, c.1808 and 1811 respectively. Any information about any of these people - parents, siblings, spouses and descendants - would be very helpful and much appreciated. My hope is to find out when they came to NS and where they came from. I would be happy to share the more recent history of my great grandfather if anyone is interested.
