Robert Leo McDonald, 87 years, formerly of Chicago, died on July 12, 2006 in Towson, MD. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Jeanne A., nee Erlenborn McDonald; his sister, Mary Carroll of Florida; his eight children, Robert N. (Joyce) of Towson, MD, John (Tamaki Maeda) of Seattle, WA, James (Mariellen Dwyer) of Chicago, Kevin (Judy Chan) of Wilmette, Thomas (Hye Yeong Min) of Orinda, CA, Denise of Burlingame, CA, Brian (Rose Cheu) of Bellevue, WA, and Gregory McDonald of Ann Arbor, MI; his 12 grandchildren, Annemarie, Claire, Emma, Paul, Alison, Jeanne Marie, Kevin, Laura, Anna, Kiera, May and Anne McDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in World War II, graduated from the University of Illinois and was employed for over 30 years as an electrical engineer at Bell Labs in New York and New Jersey. A Memorial Service will be held in Chicago later this year. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 320 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.
