Elizabeth Stuerke - re: McDonalds and Walls
Elizabeth, I apologize for taking so long to get back with you! My husband has been deployed overseas and just got back. Let me share with you some "McInfo!"
I belong to the Preston McDonald line. Mary Wall and Charles McDonald were my great-great-great-great grandparents! Family rumor has it that Charles was murdered by a stabbing. From records I've found in Kentucky I think he was a bondsman. That could sure account for some adverse situations! Anyway, Mary moved with her 2 sons, Charles and Preston, up to Sullivan County, Indiana (the town of Shelburn) in 1839 and settled many acres of virgin land. I just found her son, Charles's grave this past summer there in the cemetary in Shelburn. We have in our McDonald history a documentation that Mary Wall is buried at Turman Creek on the old Douglas place there in Indiana.
So..........I have the whole McDonald history starting with Preston, since I am his descendant. He moved to Fredonia, Kansas after the Civil War and ended up there. Let me know if you would like further information! Email me directly if you can: [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you.
