McDaniels of Groton, CT 1700s?
Has anyone heard of a John McDaniel or McDaniels in Groton Connecticut in the late 1700s and early 1800s?
I have been tracking the Daniels family in Groton, and this man usually appears and "John Daniels."However, three separate land records show him as "John Mack Dannols," "John Mack Daniel" (both from a 1777 deed), or "John McDaniels" (in a 1790 deed and an 1821 deed).
The 1821 deed shows the sale of his estate property, so he had died by that time.He was of Groton, Conn. as early as 1775.
He had children -- who went by "Daniels" -- named John Jr. (c1766-1850+), Benjamin F. (c1775-bef. 1854), Mary (Daniels)(Hewlett)Goodale 1775-1879, and Sally who married Elisha Saunders of Hebron, Conn.
Would appreciate any input!
