Incorrect information regarding Absolom being son of jehial
Regarding the information Susan McDaniel Williams posted in 2000 about her Jefferson County, Georgia linage going back through Earnest, then Ranson Nathanial McDaniel b. 1876, then William and Emily McDaniel b. 1848, then Absolom McDaniel b. 1815...this much is correct. However, see mistakenly concluded Absolom's father was Jehial McDaniel. This mistake can easily be confirmed by checking the census records for Jehial and Jane Black. They had 11 children, none of which were named Absolom. The children Jehial did have are listed in the Georgia censuses as follows: 1850 Emanuel County, 1860 Jefferson County, 1870 Jefferson County. To my knowledge, Absolom's father has not been determined with certainty to date.
