The main McDade plantation was just outside of Montgomery in Manning Springs. Our ancestor, James McDade, moved from North Carolina to Georgia. From there, his sons moved to Alabama. Some of the decendents then moved on to Lousiana, Texas, Mississippi and Arkansas.

There is a large archive of historic material in Montgomery. However, I'm not able to drive due to a knee injury, else I'd offer to do research for you.
